Model S1 has a straight design which gives good control. The blade is designed so that it functions in all kinds of hunting and fishing situations. The edge is specially ground to make the knife easy to whittle with, while it is extremely strong. The handle gives a sure and reliable grip, even in wet or cold hands. The steel is a rust resistant special steel (VG- 10), which goes through a comprehensive hardening process. The length of the blade makes it good for splitting wood, although the weight limits its use to light chopping duty.

The Fallkniven forest knife is available in an all-black design, with the blade coated in Teflon. In addition to reducing the risk of unwanted reflections, the Teflon coating gives further protection against corrosion. If the knife is to be used in salt water environments, we recommend the S1 Black.

The sheath is manufactured in black ox hide and is of the open, hinged type - most favoured by hunters and anglers in northern Scandinavia. The sheath is deep enough to hold the knife in place without extra fasteners. The sheath has a plastic liner to prevent the knife from cutting through the end. There is a Zytel sheath for those requiring a completely weatherproof solution.

The U1 is a non-locking folder of the highest calibre. This folding knife is a bit special. It combines modern steel technology with a hundred year old, folding knife design. The U1 is non-locking and is therefore regarded as legal to carry in the UK. The blade is held in place with a springsteel key, a technique which has been in use for more than 100 years and which ensures that the blade does not fold during use. It is made of laminate powder steel, Fallknivens famous 3G-steel, which guarantees edge retention beyond the ordinary. The handle is made from stainless liners with new scale material ocean blue, or ochre yellow, smooth bone. It is delivered with a slimfit black cordura sheath. With nail-nicks in both sides of the blade back, the knife is completely symmetrical and is as easily handled by both left-handed and right-handed users.

The convex-ground blade on the Fallkniven WM1 Sporting Knife gives a strong blade profile while at the same time the edge feels sharp and is easy to whittle with. The newest version of the WM1 features 3G steel. 3G is a revolutionary laminated anticorrosive steel, with a core comprising Super Gold Powder Steel (SGPS) and sides of VG2. For reliability, practicality and attractiveness it is hard to beat.

The 3G and VG-10 satin models come with a Zytel sheath, the black VG-10 comes with a kydex sheath. Zytel styles are suitable for belt or neck wear, kydex suitable for neck wear.

The DC is a combination diamond/ceramic whetstone that will handle all your sharpening needs. The DC whetstones consist of a fine diamond stone (25 micron) and a very special ceramic stone, made of synthetic sapphire.

The advantage of these materials is that, over long periods of use, they will keep their flat shape which is important when sharpening your knife. And, since these materials are ultra sharp they will sharpen any steel, even the extremely hard powder steels.

You do not need to lubricate these stones, but now and then you should consider cleaning them with warm water and liquid soap. The stones might feel coarse from the start but will become smoother after some use.

A leather pouch is included.

The oval shaped, fine diamond sharpening steel is ideal for kitchen knives. To ensure a long steel life the surface has been coated with titanium alumina nitrid, which is an extremely hard material. The C12 steel is ceramic and is used after the diamond steel to obtain a long-term edge. This brand new ceramic steel is made of real ceramic and has got micro-grooves along the entire surface. These grooves will polish the to razor sharpness and clean off the unstable raw edge, making it last longer.
