This sleeping bag has a design solution never seen before; a patented self closing neck baffle. This feature, combined with a construction that involves both fibre and down makes this sleeping bag a unique product. The sleeping bag is a two layer construction with fibre as the outside layer, for optimal protection against the elements. The inner layer closest to your body is down filled; thus protecting the warm down filling from the damp inside the tent and providing the maximum comfort.

Quality 150D Oxford Polyester, bonded with TPU glue. TPU glue is stronger and lighter than conventional PU and PVC reforms after compression - and unlike PU glue it is also biodegradable.

Self Inflating:
Thermalites will require a few extra breaths during the first inflation, but then self inflates in normal temperatures. The valve allows for additional inflation.

Reinforced Valve:
The Thermalite valves have a micro thickness brass lining for extra strength and protection against frozen moisture bursting the valve.

Both Sides Non Slip:
Both sides of the Thermalite range are non-slip, allowing your sleeping bag to grip the surface and allowing the underside to grip the tent floor.

Repair Kit Included:
Even sleeping mats as durable as the Thermalite range can be punctured by sharp rocks and climbing kit. The Thermalite range comes complete with a rapid-fix repair kit.

Fully Bonded:
The inner EVA foam has been bonded with TPU glue to the Oxford Polyester outer fabric. This ensures that there are no trapped air pockets when deflating and makes for an even surface once inflated.

Inflating mattress with the comfort of down

Heat loss is dramatically reduced with down insulation inside the mat, as demonstrated by EMPA, the Swiss Federal Labaratories for Materials Testing and Research, and field tests by expeditions. The thick cushion of air also provides comfort and smooths out uneven ground. And as down compresses extremely well, Downmats packs smaller than other insulated mats.

* Both low profile valves (pat. pend) one for inflation and the other for deflation ensure ease of use. As the valves are flat and not on the mat‘s edge they do not protrude and are therefore protected and durable.

* Light foam blocks at the mat‘s ends prevent down from escaping or migrating between chambers.

* Laminated polyester fabric is both durable, airtight and humidity resistant. The shell‘s top surface is of brushed polyester fabric that provides excellent slip resistance and comfort next to the skin. Dark colors dry quickly. The seams are high frequency welded for durability.

* Two loops at the head end can be used to secure the packsack to the mat when used as a pillow.

* Light and warm: The DownMat 7 Pump has a R-Value of 5.9. At about the same weight a standard 2.5 cm selfinflating mat only has a R-Value of 2.5. Further EMPA tests demonstrated that regular mats lose 3x more heat to cold ground than to the air. The conclusion: use a lighter weight sleeping bag with a DownMat to achieve consistent overall comfort, and still reduce weight and bulk!

The SynMats do not reach the insulating properties of the DownMats but offer the same comfort, low weight and compact packed size. They come at a lower price point as synthetic fiber is cheaper in cost than the goose down found in our DownMats. The weight to warmth ratio is far superior to standard foam filled sleeping mats.
